is an enthusiastic educator of Italian origins, with training in Educational Leadership and Learning Disabilities. She believes in “education for a happier life and for a better world” and that all children, independently from their background, have the potential and the right to learn. Hard working, creative and passionate about learning, she leads the school hands-on, through a balanced combination of effective systems and nurturing of human resources.
a committed professional with almost 30 years of experience in education, she draws from her scientific background as Chemistry Teacher and from her big heart to lead the school team with a mix of strict discipline and compassion. Her ideas, integrity and diligent implementation play a very pivotal role in the continuous development of RVG Matric.
The "birth" of the ancestor of our R.V.G. Matriculation School didn’t actually happen until 1970, but it was ten years earlier that both the Trusts under which it blossomed were founded. In 1960 and 1961, our dear Founder Trustee, Mrs. Kamalammal, started the G.R. Charity Trust and the R.V.G. Educational Trust, to commemorate her brother G. Ramaswamy Naidu and her father R.V. Guruswami Naidu, who had expired in 1959 and 1960 respectively.
Under the enthusiastic and capable guidance of the Managing Trustee Mr. V. Radhakrisnan, the R.V.G. Educational Trust took over a dismissed local government school and reopened it as R.V.G. Elementary School (government-aided, Tamil medium up to 5th standard); it also started the government aided R.V.G. Higher Elementary School (Tamil and English Medium), from 6th to 8th at first and then upgraded it to High School in 1963-64. It was a time of immense growth for the Institutions, marked by the building of infrastructure, increment in students’ strength, conquering of laurels in sports, performance of various cultural programs and the acquisition a reputation for quality education in the Udumalpet area.
The year 1969 brought a change at the helm of the Trust, with Mrs. Kamalammal becoming the Managing Trustee (post she’ll maintain until the year 2000). A year later (1970-71), realizing the need to provide English Medium education to the smaller children of the area, who would subsequently join the RVG High School in 6th standard, she started the self-financed G.R. Nursery School. The school started off very small, accommodating 42 children between LKG and 3rd standard under the guidance of 5 teachers. It was located in the heart of Kurichikottai, in a lovely little bungalow opposite to the village temple.
A few years later, in 1972-73, as the existing children grew older and the school gained momentum, Kamalammal opened the R.V.G. Preparatory School in her ancestral home in the nearby village of Naikanoor, which enrolled around 50 English Medium students in 4th and 5th standard.
With the year 1980-81, the next wave of change came about: while the R.V.G. High School was been upgraded to a Higher Secondary School, the G.R. Nursery School and R.V.G. Preparatory School were brought together and relocated in the present R.V.G. Matriculation campus, under the name of R.V.G. Nursery and Primary School. Ten new classrooms and toilets were built by Kamalammal and the school kicked off with a few hundred students under the guidance of the principal Mrs. Subathra and the vice-principal Mrs. Kanagavalli.
As the school established a reputation for delivering quality English Medium education up to 5th standard, the number of students rose to 450, to accommodate which 4 more classrooms were built. Kamalammal visited the school very regularly in the company of her friend Selvi A. Ponnammal, retired D.E.O. Coimbatore, who took personal care of the curriculum and monitored the work of the teachers and the progress of the pupils.
In the year 2000, an ageing Kamalammal left the management of the R.V.G. Trust to her beloved grandson, Mr. Santossh R., and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Vimala R., became the Correspondent of the School. Under her 10-year tenure, and her capable and caring guidance, the strength of the school reached and stabilized at 600. A new block with more classrooms and the A.V. hall was built and the compound wall came up around the 3.5-acre campus, to ensure the safety of the pupils. New extra-curricular activities, Saturday clubs, remedial teaching, sports and cultural functions and prize distributions were introduced to enrich and motivate the students; the committed day to day effort of the principal, Mrs Parasakthi, who served the institution for 5 years, saw it through.
Around 2010 the vision of the Management for the Institution, fuelled by the enthusiasm of the children, the energy of a motivated team of facilitators and executives (Mrs. Bobby and Mrs. Menaka) and the leadership of the current correspondent Mrs. Giulia Santossh, grew more ambitious, with a new focus on advanced teaching-learning methodologies, organic curriculum planning and teachers team building. The infrastructure saw a tremendous upgrade as well, with the addition of 25 classrooms, the science and computer labs, a multilingual library, a multipurpose shed with inbuilt stage, an additional block of toilets and a new play area. In 2012-13 the R.V.G. Nursery and Primary School was upgraded to R.V.G. Matriculation School and started running its Middle School (6th to 8th standard) and in 2014-15 it obtained permission to run until 10th, fulfilling the requests of many parents for providing continuity in the delivery of high quality and holistic education in English at a reasonable price.
The beginning of this decade at RVG Matric was marked by grand infrastructural developments, including a brand-new block of 6 extra classrooms, a new AV Hall, Library and Music Room, the conversion of all the KG classrooms into multi-environment rooms and the revamping of the Open Auditorium. RVG Matric is now a full-fledged Higher Secondary School, offering a variety of both science and arts groups under the capable and experienced guidance of Principal T. Manjuladevi. In line with the new NEP, the focus of the management remains to offer a comprehensive variety of core subjects, skill sets and vocational streams to ensure overall development, competence and smooth college enrollment/ employability. Continuous innovation and tie-ups with professional academic partners for all specialised extra-curricular activities ensure maximum quality of curriculum and delivery. A big accent at school is now given to competitive sports, where the tie-up with RVG Sports Academy provides the students with the unique opportunity of advanced, professional coaching after school hours. 2020 also saw the re-opening of the RVG Hostel, providing accommodation, care and academic support to local and far away students in need.
